New industrial zone around Padma Bridge draws Tk 45,000 crore in investment
A new economic zone is taking shape around Munshiganj and Faridpur, creating jobs for around one million people.

The government has moved to build a large industrial zone around the Padma Bridge corridor in Munshiganj and Faridpur. The Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority has begun acquiring land for the project.
In the first phase, electronics, garment-accessory and food-processing factories will rise on 4,000 acres. Foreign investors have already expressed interest.
